Who is responsible

Architecture Social Limited is the controller for the limited personal data used to operate PDF Shrink Ray. We are registered in England and Wales under company number 10430707 at 1 Fore St Ave, Barbican, London EC2Y 9DT.

What stays on your device

Compression, Tune previews and Inspect analysis run locally in your browser. We do not send the PDF bytes, filename, page text or document images to our servers, Clerk, Stripe or Neon.

For an anonymous visitor, the browser stores timestamps of successful free shrinks in local storage so it can apply the rolling allowance. You can clear this through your browser settings.

Account and service data

If account access is enabled and you sign in, Clerk provides the authentication session and basic account details used in the interface. Our service database stores an opaque Clerk user ID, plan and subscription status, quota job IDs, the submitted file size, job status and timestamps. It does not store the PDF or filename.

Vercel hosts the site and API and may process ordinary technical request information such as IP address, browser details, route and timestamp for security and service operation.

Payments

Paid subscriptions are not available on the public service unless the page clearly says they are live. If enabled later, Stripe will process payment details. We would store Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, status and billing period, but not card details.

Why we use this data

• to provide requested account, allowance and subscription functions;
• to prevent abuse, diagnose failures and keep the service secure;
• to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations where payments are enabled.

These uses rely on performing the service you request, our legitimate interests in operating it safely, and legal obligations where applicable.

Providers and international transfers

We use Clerk for authentication, Neon for the service ledger, Stripe for payments when enabled, and Vercel for hosting. These providers may process data outside the UK under their contractual safeguards and applicable transfer mechanisms.

Cookies and storage

We do not currently use advertising or analytics cookies. Anonymous allowances use local storage. If you sign in, Clerk uses essential authentication storage or cookies needed to keep the session secure. If non-essential analytics or marketing cookies are added, we will update this notice and ask for consent where required.

Retention and your rights

We keep account, quota, security and billing records only for as long as needed for the purposes above and any legal obligations. You may ask to access, correct, delete or restrict personal data, object to certain processing, or request portability where it applies. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
